Enerjisa Enerji has published TSRS and GRI-aligned sustainability reports

Integrating sustainability into the core of its strategy and developing projects and investments with a focus on people and technology, Enerjisa Enerji has, in addition to the 2024 edition of its Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)-aligned Sustainability Report—which it has been regularly publishing since 2018—also released its first report fully compliant with the Türkiye Sustainability Reporting Standards (TSRS), which came into effect this year. In doing so, Enerjisa Enerji has once again demonstrated its leading position in the market and commitment to accountability by presenting its sustainability performance in a transparent, comparable, and measurable manner in line with both international (GRI) and national (TSRS) standards

Operating with a strong business model that maintains its leadership position in Electricity Distribution, and Retail Sales, while advancing renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions in its Customer Solutions business, Enerjisa Enerji is one of Türkiye’s leading energy companies. Guided by its vision of “a better future for everyone” across all its activities and investments, the company focuses on creating economic and social value by continuing its societal investments, as well as through areas such as renewable energy solutions, smart grid technologies, and e-mobility.

Enerjisa Enerji regards environmental sustainability—alongside economic and social sustainability—as an essential pillar of its business strategy, and has published sustainability reports that clearly demonstrate, through concrete actions, its commitment to climate change mitigation and resource efficiency targets. With a pledge to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030 compared to the 2021 base year, the company had achieved a 19.94% reduction as of 2024, marking significant progress toward this goal. By sourcing 100% of its direct electricity consumption from renewable sources, and through the implementation of solar power plants and energy efficiency projects, Enerjisa Enerji helps reduce the carbon footprint not only of its own operations but also of its customers.

Full Compliance with the Türkiye Sustainability Reporting Standards

As of 2024, with the entry into force of the Türkiye Sustainability Reporting Standards (TSRS), Türkiye has become one of the first countries to make sustainability reporting mandatory. Defined as Türkiye’s adapted version of IFRS, the TSRS mandates the presentation of non-financial sustainability information in a standardized format, enabling companies to both share their ESG performance transparently and respond to investor expectations on an international scale. Taking a pioneering step in its sector, Enerjisa Enerji prepared its 2024 TSRS-Aligned Sustainability Report in full compliance with the TSRS 1 and TSRS 2 standards and published it now well ahead of the deadline.

The report presents the climate governance structure, strategy, and climate-related risks and opportunities in an integrated manner, highlighting financially material climate issues; and shares measurable progress towards decarbonization and climate resilience targets.

New Developments in the GRI-Aligned Sustainability Report

For the first time, Enerjisa Enerji conducted a Double Materiality Analysis in line with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), identifying the most critical areas of impact from both financial and environmental-social perspectives; the results were reflected in the GRI-Aligned Sustainability Report. Progress towards ESG targets, sustainability strategies, and achievements were shared transparently. All data in the two reports—TSRS-Aligned and GRI-Aligned—underwent a limited assurance process by independent third parties, while the Double Materiality Analysis was also subject to separate independent verification.

ULBRICH: “We Will Continue Our Journey to Becoming a Sustainability Leader Recognized Both in Türkiye and Globally”

Noting that a large team from all business units of Enerjisa Enerji came together to deliver work that will set an example for the sector, Enerjisa Enerji CFO Philipp Ulbrich shared his views: “With our first report in full compliance with the Türkiye Sustainability Reporting Standards, we present our financial and sustainability performance under one roof, in a comparable and measurable manner. This enables our investors to see not only our economic results, but also all our environmental and social impacts—ranging from the 19.94% reduction in our carbon emissions and our 100% use of renewable electricity, to reaching over 44,000 people through our CSR and social investment projects and inclusivity programs, and increasing the proportion of white-collar female employees to 32.2%. This approach reinforces international investor confidence while also positively influencing our long-term financing costs. In 2024, while maint aining our strong balance sheet structure, we directed our sustainability investments to create value for our more than 22 million customers and for future generations. In the coming period, with the systematic reporting framework provided by the TSRS, we will continue our journey to becoming a sustainability leader recognized both in Türkiye and globally and aim for a fully integrated reporting in the next year.”

TAŞCIOĞLU: “We Place the Responsibility for the Legacy We Will Leave to the Future at the Center of All Our Business Processes”

Stating that they define growth not only by financial results but also by the lasting impact they create on society, the economy, and the environment, Ebru Taşcıoğlu, Head of Sustainability and Corporate Capabilities at Enerjisa Enerji said: “As Enerjisa Enerji, while serving over 22 million users, we place the responsibility for the legacy we will leave to the future at the center of all our business processes. With this approach, we not only meet today’s energy needs, but also develop projects that reduce environmental impacts and increase social benefits. In 2024, through the energy efficiency and renewable energy projects we implemented, we helped our customers prevent more than 145,000 tons of carbon emissions, and brought together over 350,000 students with our energy literacy programs, supporting the preparation of future generations for a sustainable world.

For us, sustainability is not only about protecting the environment; it is a journey that strengthens the economy, uplifts society, and safeguards the quality of life for future generations. Today, as we present our first report in full compliance with the Türkiye Sustainability Reporting Standards, we once again reaffirm our principles of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. In the coming period, we will continue to see investments, climate consciousness, and social benefit as inseparable parts of growth, and carry today’s energy into the future in line with our vision of ‘a better future for everyone.”
